National Science Olympiad Day at Kiewit Luminarium Thursday, May 22
Kiewit Luminarium is a place for everyone to explore the astonishing phenomena that shape our world, our communities, and ourselves. With more than 125 open-ended, hands-on exhibits, Science Olympians can engage with their own curiosity to extend and challenge their current understandings in a fun way with teammates. The current exhibition, Creatividad Silvestre | Wild Creativity invites visitors of all ages to explore fundamental concepts of biomimicry through hands-on design challenges.
Located on Omaha’s RiverFront, Kiewit Luminarium is 3 miles south of Eppley Airfield and less than a mile from restaurants in and around the Old Market. Free parking is available to Kiewit Luminarium visitors.
National Science Olympiad Day Includes:
- A personal welcome and orientation by Kiewit Luminarium staff
- Discounted admission of $10/person (students, coaches, and chaperones)
- Option for an eating space on site (see below for catering option from on-site restaurant Fig.)
Additional Discount Days for Olympiad Teams:
National Science Olympiad teams are also invited to visit the Luminarium on other days during your time in Nebraska. Team members, coaches, and chaperones qualify for a discounted rate of $19.95/adult and $14.95/student by showing your NSO credentials at the Luminarium Welcome Desk. No need to purchase advanced tickets.

Lunch Catering Option
For those visiting on May 22, a box lunch with an indoor eating space is available through our partnership with Fig. café. Healthy and delicious from-scratch-lunch options are made with fresh ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible.
Choose from the following options:
- Turkey Sandwich – with mayo, cheddar, red onion, and lettuce on sourdough wheat bread; chips; chocolate chip cookie
- Gluten free Flatbread – chicken & vegetable OR vegetable; chips, chocolate chip cookie
- Hummus Veggie Wrap (vegan) – chips, chocolate chip cookie

Cost: $12.36 each. Soda and bottled water available for an additional $2.
