Come dressed in costume* for a fun day of trick-or-treating, strange science, and more! This Halloween season, the Luminarium is celebrating with our second-annual Fright Lab experience. Explore the museum and see how it’s been transformed for the season full of fun and surprises. Science demos including sheep eye dissections will make for an exciting day of educational AND spooky fun!
*Leave your samurai swords, light sabers, and blasters at home, please. No costume weapons allowed.

Passport – Candy Stations All Day Experience
Come dressed in your Halloween best and get ready for the ultimate trick-or-treating adventure throughout the Luminarium! Grab a passport and visit 10 candy stations throughout the museum to collect treats along the way. Some stations will even be hosted by our awesomely spooky sponsors!
Complete your passport for a chance to enter our raffle and score an extra fa-boo-lous surprise! 👻

Glitter Tattoos & Balloon Art
Ima Awthum Clown | 10AM – 1PM
Make your way to Ima Awthum Clown’s station where some serious Halloween-themed balloon art will be going down! And for our glitter fanatics… don’t forget to snag a temporary glitter tattoo and get a little extra festive.
“Scary Critters”
Wildlife Encounters | 10AM – 1PM
In this participatory experience, step inside a casket and embrace the role of the deceased. Those gathered are called to deliver a eulogy, whether sincere or absurd. If words fail, prompts are provided in the form of Mad Libs. Once the eulogies are completed, the participant may rise – changed by the ritual – free to walk the earth again.
“Mad Scientist”
11AM – 2PM
Watch out for an unbelievably tall scientist creeping the halls of the Luminarium while you trick-or-treat! We hear he’s the tallest mad scientist you’ll ever meet. Come see him for yourself.
Buttons the Clown – Balloon Artist
1PM – 4PM
We need your help! Buttons the Clown is orchestrating an interactive balloon sculpture inside the museum. Each piece of balloon art made by guests will be added to this great masterpiece for all to see and witness!
“Edible Skin And Drinkable Blood”
Ever wondered what’s actually hiding beneath your skin? Explore the science behind the parts of your body with displays exposing what makes up your blood and skin, plus food-based models you can see, touch, and even taste!
“Creepy Cauldrons”
Feeling brave? Crawl over to our Curiosity Station and reach into our lineup of mini cauldrons to guess the gruesome items that reside inside.
Spooky Science
Dr. Rachel Willand-Charnley of Scientists-at-Large | 10AM-11AM & 1PM-2PM
Join a real scientist as the mischievous magic of bubbling experiments, puking pumpkins, and ghost trails is showcased through chemistry experiments with a spooky twist!
