Robotics Expo with UNO and UNL Robotics

Join the robotics clubs from both UNL and UNO to learn about the engineering behind competitive robotics. From Lunabotics to Battlebots, PROTO to VEXU – this all-ages event will introduce Luminarium guests to a wide range of robotics technologies and design strategies.  Meet the inspiring students behind the robots and see their innovative builds in action. Participants can even try their hand operating robots and tinkering with builds.

Teams joining us for the day are:

UNL VEXU Robotics

VEXU Robotics is an organization that designs, builds, and codes two different robots based on the determined game for that year. We build our robots from a combination of metal and 3D printed parts. Throughout the school year, we compete at several different competitions against other university teams from across the globe. Our organization is home to a variety of different majors, and takes in any students who express interest in what we do.

Big Red BattleBots UNL

A club that builds 1-3lb combat robots (similar to the TV show) and promotes members to compete all across the Midwest. We teach all of our members the skills they need, which span across many disciplines of engineering and trade work, such as metal fabrication, 3D modeling, and electrical diagnostics.

PROTO, Promoting Robotics Opportunities Through Outreach

PROTO’s mission is to spark interest in STEM for the next generation of engineers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers at University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

UNO VEX Robotics

We are a club belonging to the University of Nebraska at Omaha based around the VEX robotics competition at the university level, working to find unique solutions for a new game objective each season. We incorporate custom manufacturing through machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, and we hope to continue expanding our horizons.

UNL FIRST Robotics

FIRST Nebraska is a recognized student organization at the University of Nebraska Lincoln which exists to provide support to high school FIRST Robotics Competition teams in the state through mentorship, experience, training, and networking. Our long-term goal is to start high-school teams, support them until they can sustain themselves, then repeat in order to increase the prevalence of FIRST in Nebraska and give students the opportunity to gain advanced robotics, programming, and engineering experience.
