NoCoast Drone Racing presents Flight Lab, a STEM-focused drone racing exhibition. Designed for youth, families, and the broader community, Flight Lab transforms drone racing into an interactive learning environment where spectators don’t just watch, they experiment, build, and fly.
Attendees will engage directly with the fundamentals of flight and engineering through hands-on activities, including building and taking home simplified drone models and piloting virtual drones using simulators. These experiences are designed to introduce key STEM concepts such as aerodynamics, physics, and real-time problem solving in an accessible and engaging way.
At the center of Flight Lab is a live drone racing exhibition featuring skilled pilots navigating a custom indoor course. A live stream, including real-time pilot camera feeds, will allow spectators to experience the intensity and precision of FPV (first person view) racing from the pilot’s perspective, bridging the gap between participant and observer.
Flight Lab is designed to lower the barrier to entry for drone flight and STEM learning by giving people a direct, hands-on first experience. Whether someone is flying in a simulator for the first time or watching pilots race from their perspective, the goal is to make this technology feel accessible, exciting, and within reach for anyone curious enough to try.
