As summer approaches full bloom we’re embracing the beauty and wonder of nature in a Night Light (18+) dedicated to art, engineering, and design inspired by nature.
This month, we’re examining biomimicry and design-inspired by nature in our traveling exhibition Creatividad silvestre | Wild Creativity. Explore how nature shapes the spaces we live, work, and play in. We will be joined by Kendra Ordia, associate professor of interior design in the College of Architecture at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Kendra’s interactive workshop introduces different ways that architects and designers take cues from the natural world—through biomimicry, biophilia, and more. Together, we’ll focus on biophilic design: the idea that humans are deeply connected to nature and thrive when that connection is reflected in our surroundings. Through storytelling and interactive activities, you’ll discover 15 creative patterns for bringing nature into the built environment—and leave with a new lens for seeing the spaces around you.
As always, our restaurant partners Fig. will be open late for dinner, drinks, or dessert.
