Family Story Time with Robin Wall Kimmerer

A FREE special Holland Talks engagement for Kiewit Luminarium Members Only. (CLICK HERE to become a member.)

Join New York Times-bestselling author and inaugural Holland Talks lecturer Robin Wall Kimmerer for a reading and conversation for the whole family. This event is free for all Kiewit Lumarium Members. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

The book Braiding Sweetgrass for Young Adults will be the basis for the day’s engagement. Wall Kimmerer will share with us stories and practices that foster deeper relationships with our community and place in the world. The two themes being discussed, “Circles” and “Kinship,” are shared so that all peoples might think about how to incorporate Indigenous ways of living and knowing.

While Braiding Sweetgrass For Young Adults is adapted for adolescents, the day’s conversation will be accessible to readers of all ages in our Luminarium family.

An enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Wall Kimmerer is the author of Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and The Teachings of Plants. Wall Kimmerer’s writing weaves together traditional and contemporary paths to knowledge, celebrating the deep connections between humans and the natural world.
