As part of the Luminarium’s Holland Talks lecture series, join renowned psychologist Dr. Dacher Keltner, one of the world’s leading experts on emotion and the science of awe, for a uniquely immersive experience designed to open your senses, deepen your presence, and elevate your connection to the world around you.
This one-hour program invites guests to slow down, notice the extraordinary in the everyday, and explore how awe can enhance well-being. Through guided reflection, mindful observation, and shared conversation, participants will discover how moments of wonder can shape our lives in profound ways.
This event is open to all ages and is free with Luminarium daily admission or Membership. Limited tickets will be available at the Welcome Desk on the day of the event
Program Schedule
11:00am – Opening Discussion: Dr. Keltner introduces the science and importance of awe, setting the stage for a mindful exploration.
11:15am – Awe Walk: Together, guests take a guided walk through the museum, pausing at select exhibits to uncover sources of awe in scientific phenomena.
11:30am – Independent Exploration: Participants continue on their own, visiting additional exhibits and tuning into moments that spark their personal sense of wonder.
11:45am – Community Share-Out: Everyone reconvenes in the River Room for an informal reflection and discussion with Dr. Keltner.
