Curiosity Stations – Join a Luminator to investigate natural phenomena in this drop-in format.
- Mind-Bending Puzzles: Apply logic and spatial reasoning to understand and solve 3-dimensional puzzles.
Facilitated Exhibits – Interact with these exhibits with additional challenges and insights provided by a Luminator:
- Stream Play: Engineer a river to limit flooding
- Pile It High: Build structures that address engineering challenges provided
- Self Scope: Explore your skin, hair, clothing and other materials provided by a Luminator
Instructional Demonstration
Watch a 10 minute instructional demonstration. Start times at 10:50 AM and 1:40 PM
- Mammoth’s Toothpaste (10:50AM) – Compare the results of three different chemical reactions to find a way one might clean the teeth of a large, extinct mammal
- Under Pressure (1:40PM) – Compare the effects of changes of air pressure on various objects
Maker Space
- Gravity Racers: Apply concepts from Newton’s Laws of Motion to construct and modify a wheeled vehicle to race down a ramp
