4th – 5th Grade Camps

For the summer of 2026, we’ve designed three unique Camp Luminarium experiences for students entering grades 4-5. Each camp is five-days long and is offered in two sessions – once in June and once in July. Campers are welcome to register for multiple camps, exploring a wide diversity of scientific experiences!

Monsters and Superheros

June 8-12 / July 6-10

Come learn about how science has inspired the creation of some of your favorite supernatural characters. In this camp we will take a look at monsters and myths, urban legends, superheroes and fairy tales, and fantastic beings out of movies and books to interpret the science behind the legends. Want to create your own robotic glove, figure out where Bigfoot might be hiding or make plans to survive a zombie apocalypse? We’ve got you covered!

Member Registration Opens March 11

Tinker Lab

June 15-19 / July 13-17

Embrace your creativity and learn new engineering skills in this camp designed to inspire creations of all kinds. Build a better birdhouse, learn about natural dyes, use recycled materials to create unique works of art, and direct your own stop-motion animation. There are all kinds of things to try out in this one-of-a-kind tinkering camp!

Member Registration Opens March 11

Elemental Science

June 22-26 / July 20-24

Earth! Fire! Air! Water! Life! The Earth’s systems are all connected in complex and surprising ways. We’ll explore these connections using several fields of science – meteorology, chemistry, physics, geology, biology and more! Learn all about the systems and elements that make up the Earth – from ocean trenches to towering volcanoes, from lighting to earthquakes, we’ll find out what makes our planet work!

Member Registration Opens March 11
